  3. 1 can (46 ounces) pineapple juice
  4. 3 cups orange juice
  5. 3/4 cup lemon juice
  6. 1/2 cup orange juice concentrate
  7. 8 medium ripe bananas, mashed
  8. 2 bottles (2 liters each) cream soda
  9. 3 cans (12 ounces each) lemon-lime soda
Instructions
  1. In a saucepan, bring sugar and water to a boil over medium heat; cool. Pour into a freezer container; add juices, orange juice concentrate and bananas. Cover and freeze. To serve, thaw mixture until slushy; stir in cream soda and lemon-lime soda. Yield: about 9-1/2 quarts.

Instructions
  1. 1 Place the chocolate cookies in a plastic baggie and pound with a rolling pin or wooden mallet until fine crumbs are formed.
  2. 2 Coat the center of a small plate with chocolate syrup in a circle. Sprinkle the crushed chocolate wafers over the chocolate syrup on the plate.
  3. 3 Turn a martini glass upside down and dip the rim of the glass in the mixture and spin back and forth, until the rim is coated.
  4. 4 Drizzle some chocolate syrup inside the glass, forming a swirling design and place the glass in the freezer.
  5. 5 In a shaker with ice add the chocolate milk, vodka and creme de cocoa. Shake well.
  6. 6 Remove glass from freezer.
  7. 7 Strain mixture into glass and serve.

  1. 3 cups milk, divided
  2. 3 cups half-and-half cream, divided
  3. 3 egg yolks
  4. 3/4 cup sugar
  5. 3 large ripe bananas
  6. 1/2 cup light rum
  7. 1/3 cup creme de cacao
  8. 1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  9. Whipped cream and baking cocoa, optional
Instructions
  1. In a large heavy saucepan, combine 1-1/2 cups milk, 1-1/2 cups cream, egg yolks and sugar. Cook and stir over medium-low heat until mixture reaches 160° and is thick enough to coat the back of a metal spoon.
  2. Place bananas in a food processor; cover and process until blended. Pour milk mixture into a pitcher; stir in the banana puree, rum, creme de cacao, vanilla, and remaining milk and cream. Cover and refrigerate for at least 3 hours before serving.
  3. Pour into chilled glasses. Garnish with whipped cream and sprinkle with cocoa if desired. Yield: 11 servings (about 2 quarts).

  2. 2 Cover; cook on Low heat setting 4 to 6 hours. Before serving, remove allspice and cinnamon.
Notes
  1. Put the spices in a paper coffee filter and tie it with a piece of kitchen string to make the spices easy to remove from the hot cider.
  2. Fresh orange slices add a pretty touch of color to this ruby-red hot drink. Add them to the cider in the slow cooker just before serving.

  2. 1/4 cup baking cocoa
  3. Dash salt
  4. 1/3 cup hot water
  5. 4 cups milk
  6. 3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  7. Miniature marshmallows, sweetened whipped cream or cinnamon sticks, optional
Instructions
  1. In a saucepan, combine sugar, cocoa and salt. Add water; bring to a boil. Cook and stir for 2 minutes. Stir in milk; heat to serving temperature (do not boil). Remove from the heat; stir in vanilla. Whisk until frothy. If desired, garnish with marshmallows, cream or cinnamon sticks. Yield: 5 cups.
Notes
  1. For Swiss Mocha Cocoa: Add 2 to 2-1/2 teaspoons instant coffee with vanilla. For Canadian Cocoa: Add 1/2 teaspoon imitation maple flavoring with vanilla. For Slim-Trim Cocoa: Omit sugar. Combine cocoa, salt and water. Substitute fat-free milk. Proceed as above. Stir in vanilla with artificial sweetener equivalent to 1/2 cup sugar.

Notes
  1. Cooking Know-How
  2. When measuring liquid ingredients, such as milk, water, juice or oil, use a glass or plastic measuring cup with a pour spout. Place the measuring cup on a level surface, then bend down so your eye is even with the measuring line. Slowly fill the cup to the correct line.
