Ingredients

  2. lb lean (at least 80%) ground beef
  3. 1/2
  4. lb bulk Italian pork sausage
  5. 1
  6. medium onion, chopped (about 1/2 cup)
  7. 1
  8. can (28 oz) Muir Glen® organic diced tomatoes, undrained
  9. 2
  10. cans (8 oz each) Muir Glen® organic tomato sauce
  11. 1
  12. teaspoon sugar
  13. 1
  14. to 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
  15. 2
  16. teaspoons chili powder
  17. 1
  18. teaspoon dried oregano leaves
  19. 1
  20. can (15 oz) spicy chili beans, undrained
  21. 2
  22. cups Progresso® chick peas (garbanzo beans), drained, rinsed (from 19-oz can)
  23. Sour cream, if desired
  24. Sliced green onions, if desired
Instructions
  1. 1 In 10-inch skillet, cook beef, sausage and onion over medium-high heat 5 to 7 minutes, stirring frequently, until beef is thoroughly cooked; drain.
  2. 2 In 3 1/2- to 4-quart slow cooker, mix beef mixture with all remaining ingredients except sour cream and green onions.
  3. 3 Cover; cook on Low setting 7 to 8 hours.
  4. 4 Top individual servings with sour cream and green onions.
